Please note that I have many years of very technical experience developing mission-critical applications using C and Java on the AS/400. This is a fairly narrow niche market, and I am one of the relatively few qualified consultants with expertise in this area. Some examples:

• Ported NobleNet RPC to the AS/400.
• Ported IBM's Network Dispatcher Agent to the AS/400.
• Designed and Developed middleware (written in Java & C) for United Parcel Service that handles over 15 million transactions per day, all running on a network of AS/400s.

On the Mainframe, I specialize in C & Java development within Unix System Services, and from that environment can target Batch and CICS. I've written tools that enable one to compile CICS applications all from within USS, thereby making it much easier to make use of Unix-experienced talent in a mainframe environment.
